My name is Rosa –although I always sign roza. for originality– and this blog (which I should've began writing months ago) will be about my life as a student, traveler, fashionista and basically starving artist. I am originally from Mexico City, but was raised in Cancun and now go to college in New York. With my obvious love for big chaotic cities, I decided to come to Europe and study a semester in Milan, Italy.
Ever since I was young, I have been lucky enough to travel frequently with my family, to places like Asia, North America and all over Europe (I have many more on my list), so of course, I expected studying abroad to be an incredible experience, but it has become so much more than that. I have had the chance to explore countries and cities and even little anonymous towns that have completely changed the way I see things. As cliche as it may sound, I feel like I am already a much better person than I was three months ago. I feel like I have a better idea of what I want for my future and of the person that I want to be.
Italians, and Europeans in general have taught me that it's not necessary (or healthy) to be over-caffeinated, under-rested and stressed 24 hours of the day, like we are in New York and Mexico City. They have taught me that work is just as important as family time, alone time, and free time with friends. A final project to them is just as important as grabbing a glass of wine and chatting with an old friend... which I must admit I'm still getting used to, but you get the idea. What I'm trying to say, is that I am having the time of my life here, and I want to express it in every way that I can, so that when I'm back to being over-caffeinated and exhausted in the big city, I remember how life should be lived, and change.
